CareScribe is a growing, PE-backed technology group based in Bristol, behind the Caption.Ed and TalkType products, which support accessible communication and transcription. The business is seeking an experienced Fractional CFO to provide senior financial leadership at group level. The role reports to the CEO and works closely with the Head of Finance and Operations, with meaningful influence at board and executive level. The engagement is expected to be front-loaded during the initial phase as core structures are established, before settling into a steady fractional commitment of approximately four to five days per month. The position offers the opportunity to shape how financial insight informs growth, investment decisions, and operational trade-offs across a PE-backed environment. • Own the end-to-end board reporting process and ensure pack quality meets governance standards across the group. • Build and maintain the financial model as the single source of truth, defining KPIs for leadership and board oversight. • Oversee cash, liquidity, and runway planning, including PE debt, repayment profiles, and covenant management. • Act as a senior financial counterpart for the Chair and PE investors, supporting queries and ad-hoc analysis. • Provide senior guidance and mentorship to the existing finance function and Head of Finance and Operations. • Advise on intercompany funding flows and tax-efficient structuring in collaboration with external advisors. • Proven track record as a CFO or senior finance leader, ideally within a PE-backed or SaaS environment. • Experience owning board-level reporting, financial modelling, and governance frameworks. • Strong understanding of capital structure, PE debt covenants, and treasury management. • Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, decision-ready insight for boards and investors. • Comfortable operating as a fractional or part-time executive with high autonomy and accountability. • Experience supporting or mentoring in-house finance teams in a scaling business.
