One of my clients is seeking a Fractional CFO / Financial Advisor for a focused engagement. This is a 3–4 month project, approximately 30–40 hours per month, supporting a growing retail and events-based business. Details are below. Client: Wild Pony Hat Bar (Retail + Events Business) About the Business Wild Pony Hat Bar is a growing retail brand with a physical storefront and a strong events business focused on custom hat experiences. Revenue comes from in-store sales, off-site events, and custom orders. The business is founder-led, creative, and scaling, and now needs stronger financial clarity to support smart growth. What We’re Looking For We are seeking a fractional CFO or senior financial advisor to partner with the founder and leadership team to ensure the business is running financially sound, and to teach and guide, not just execute. This is not a bookkeeping role. It is a strategic, hands-on advisory role focused on building confidence, clarity, and discipline around the financials. Key Objectives • Assess whether current financials, reporting, and processes are set up correctly for a multi-revenue-stream retail business • Help the founders understand the story behind the numbers and how to use them to make better decisions • Create simple, repeatable financial rhythms the team can actually maintain Core Areas of Support • Review and improve P&L structure (storefront vs. events vs. custom work) • Cash flow visibility and forecasting • Margin analysis by product, event, and channel • Guidance on pricing, costs, and profitability • Budgeting and financial planning for growth • Light support around inventory and event economics • Advisory on financial tools, systems, and reporting cadence • Founder education and coaching around financial decision-making Ideal Background • Experience as a CFO, VP Finance, or senior finance leader for retail, consumer, hospitality, or event-driven businesses • Comfortable working with creative, founder-led teams • Strong communicator who can explain financial concepts clearly and practically • Preference for someone who enjoys building foundations rather than stepping into overly complex corporate environments Engagement Details • Fractional advisory role • Up to 30 hours per month to start • Flexible structure (monthly retainer preferred) • Remote with occasional touchpoints aligned to leadership needs Apply tot his job
