Freelance CPA / Govt Contractor

Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Freelance CPA to support the financial operations of our government contracting firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of federal contracting regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and experience working with DCAA-compliant accounting systems. Key Monthly Responsibilities: • Manage monthly accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll. • Prepare and maintain monthly accurate financial records in compliance with FAR, CAS, and GAAP. • Ensure DCAA compliance in all accounting procedures, audits, and reporting. • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes. • Monitor indirect rates and assist with cost proposal pricing and budgeting. • Prepare invoices for government clients and monitor contract billing requirements. • Reconcile bank statements and perform account analysis. • Prepare incurred cost submissions, financial reports, and other required government financial reports.
