Position Overview
Google Cloud Infrastructure Architect at Slalom. In this role, you will serve as a technical leader in designing, implementing, and optimizing secure, scalable, and high-performing infrastructure solutions on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Working alongside IT, security, engineering, and business teams, you will drive GCP engagements at the Senior Consultant or Principal levels. This role can be based within a commutable distance of any Slalom office location in the US.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operationalize enterprise-grade infrastructure solutions using Google Cloud services such as Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud Armor, VPCs, Cloud DNS, and Private Service Connect.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive architecture plans for cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Lead workshops and infrastructure assessments, translating business and technical requirements into scalable, secure, and cost-effective GCP solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on GCP best practices for networking, identity and access management (IAM), observability, resilience, and multi-region design.
- Collaborate with teams to automate infrastructure delivery using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Deployment Manager, and Cloud Build.
- Ensure infrastructure meets compliance, governance, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, HITRUST, FedRAMP, GDPR).
- Partner with data and application teams to integrate infrastructure seamlessly with platform, AI/ML, and analytics workloads.
- Stay current with emerging cloud infrastructure technologies and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and delivery of cloud infrastructure solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience designing and delivering GCP-native infrastructure in production enterprise environments.
- Hands-on expertise with key GCP services including VPC, GKE, Cloud Interconnect, Cloud VPN, Identity Aware Proxy (IAP), Cloud NAT, and service networking.
- Strong understanding of security best practices including IAM, VPC Service Controls, KMS, Cloud Armor, and secure CI/CD patterns.
- Experience modernizing legacy infrastructure to cloud-native GCP services using IaC, container orchestration (e.g., GKE), and hybrid connectivity.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to balance performance, cost, and operational needs in technical decision-making.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Experience working in Agile environments with infrastructure as part of product delivery.
- Familiarity with site reliability engineering (SRE), disaster recovery planning, and observability using Cloud Monitoring, Logging, and Error Reporting.
- Current Google Cloud certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer).
- Additional certifications in networking, security, or hybrid connectivity (e.g., AWS/GCP Hybrid Connectivity) are a plus.

East Bay, San Francisco, Silicon Valley – Senior Consultant: $131,000-$203,000; Principal: $145,000-$225,000.
San Diego, Los Angeles, Orange County, Seattle, Houston, New Jersey, New York City, Westchester, Boston, Washington DC – Senior Consultant: $120,000-$186,000; Principal: $133,000-$206,000.
All other locations – Senior Consultant: $110,000-$171,000; Principal: $122,000-$189,000.
