The Role We are seeking an experienced Grant Specialist to join us as an independent consultant. This role is success-based: compensation is provided as a consulting fee when funding is successfully awarded. This is ideal for entrepreneurial grant professionals who prefer performance-driven opportunities and want to partner with a growing justice tech venture. Responsibilities • Research and identify federal, state, and private funding opportunities for justice innovation. • Write and submit compelling grant proposals aligned with OACRA’s mission. • Track requirements, deadlines, and reporting obligations. • Collaborate with leadership to align grant proposals with product milestones. Qualifications • Proven track record of securing federal, state, or private grants. • Strong research, writing, and organizational skills. • Familiarity with justice, technology, or reentry sectors preferred. • Entrepreneurial mindset; comfortable with a performance-based arrangement. Compensation • Success-based consulting fee upon awarded funding. • Structure: a negotiated percentage of awarded grants or fixed success fee per award. • No upfront retainer or flat fee at this stage.
