About Give to Africa: Give to Africa is a California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit connecting global donors with vetted, grassroots nonprofits across Africa. We equip African-led organizations with the tools, funding, and visibility they need to deliver life-saving programs in education, health, women’s empowerment, clean water, and more. Our mission is to make cross-border giving accessible, transparent, and impactful—unlocking generosity to power locally led change. Volunteer Role: Grant Writer & Fundraising Volunteer We are seeking passionate and skilled volunteers to help us raise critical funds for our growing network of 140+ African nonprofit partners across 10 countries. This is an opportunity to use your writing, research, and fundraising skills to directly support grassroots changemakers doing vital work on the frontlines. What You’ll Do: • Research and identify grant opportunities from foundations and donor agencies • Write compelling grant proposals, LOIs, and concept notes • Support the development of fundraising campaigns (email, social media, donor outreach) • Help create donor materials, sponsorship decks, and fundraising toolkits • Contribute to overall fundraising strategy and donor cultivation efforts • Collaborate with our team using project tools like Monday.com and Google Workspace What We’re Looking For: • Strong writing and communication skills • Experience in grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit development (preferred but not required) • Passion for social justice, global development, and African-led change • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines • Comfortable working remotely and collaborating with an international team What You’ll Gain: • Real-world experience in nonprofit fundraising and grant strategy • The chance to directly contribute to African NGOs delivering life-changing services • Mentorship from experienced nonprofit professionals • Recognition on our website and recommendation letters upon request • The joy of using your skills to empower communities and create lasting impact How to Apply: Please send a brief note of interest and a writing sample (if available) to [your email].
