Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Historic Preservation Specialist to join our team on a full-time, 2-year contract. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heritage conservation and preservation, with a deep understanding of the UAE's cultural heritage and its significance. Key Responsibilities: Conducting research and analysis to identify historic buildings, structures, and sites in need of preservation Developing and implementing preservation plans and strategies for identified sites Collaborating with architects, engineers, and other specialists to ensure preservation plans are feasible and effective Conducting site visits and assessments to evaluate the condition of historic structures and recommend necessary repairs and restoration work Preparing detailed reports and proposals outlining preservation plans and recommendations Liaising with government agencies, community groups, and other stakeholders to gain support and funding for preservation projects Overseeing preservation projects and ensuring that work is carried out according to established guidelines and standards Providing guidance and support to clients and contractors on best practices for preserving historic structures Staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in historic preservation to continually improve our services Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Historic Preservation, Architecture, or a related field Minimum of 3 years of experience in historic preservation and conservation Strong knowledge of UAE's cultural heritage and preservation laws and regulations Excellent research and analytical skills Experience in developing and implementing preservation plans and strategies Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant software Fluency in English, both written and verbal Valid driver's license and ability to travel to different project sites as needed Originally posted on Himalayas
