Job Title: Human Resources Assistant (Remote) Working America is the community affiliate of the AFL-CIO. The Human Resources Assistant (Remote) performs a variety of administrative tasks in support of the general human resource needs of the organization. The Human Resources Assistant (Remote) is a Confidential position. The Human Resources Assistant (Remote) is not responsible for performing largely in-person duties that may otherwise be associated with this position such as in-person training, development, management, and support of other Working America staff; on-site troubleshooting; attending internal and external in-person meetings and conferences on a regular basis; and / or in-person organizational representation. The Human Resources Assistant (Remote) may be asked to travel on occasion and to perform some aspects of these duties in person. The position is fixed-term with an expected end date on or before Dec. 20, 2024. Reports to: Human Resources Administrator Duties: Assists in the creation and maintenance of employee forms or documents; Assists in employee onboarding and off-boarding on a remote basis; Answers basic employee questions about compensation and benefits; Processes employee status changes or benefits enrollments; maintains records of completed transactions; Assists in the implementation of organizational policies and procedures; Assists with employee background and motor vehicle record checks, logs information for review; Assists in the administration of Collective Bargaining Agreements; Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Interest in the areas in human resources and administration, and payroll and benefits Exhibit ethical conduct and maintain confidentiality regarding all aspects of work at all times; Dependable, consistently at work and on time, strictly follow instructions and policy; Ability to prioritize, plan and organize work activities, and consistently use time efficiently; Strong interpersonal skills; Good judgment; Effective oral and written communication skills; Computer efficiency in Microsoft and / or Google Workspace products. Position Type: Full-time/Regular FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Salary for this position starts at $36,147. Includes medical insurance and 401(k) with employer contribution.
