The Role We are looking for an experienced Interim Financial Controller to oversee and manage our finance operations. Available for a 4-month interim assignment, ideally starting as soon as possible. In this role, you will lead a small team (AP and AR) and take full responsibility for the month-end close, daily accounting activities, and the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting.This is a hands-on role suited for a finance professional who combines accounting operation knowledge with a strong drive for automation and tech savyness. What You’ll Do Own and manage the monthly financial close process, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis; Review and supervise the work of our AP and AR specialists, ensuring accuracy and timeliness; Prepare internal financial reports, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements; Prepare VAT filings and payroll journals; Together with the AR specialist and the customer facing teams manage and further automate the AR process; Maintain and improve financial processes and documentation. What We’re Looking For 4+ years of experience in financial controlling, preferably in a SaaS or scale-up environment; Solid understanding of Dutch GAAP and VAT compliance; Strong working knowledge of Exact Online is essential, and experience with Chargebee is a plus; Comfortable working with Google Sheets (connected to BigQuery) and experienced in building and interpreting pivot tables; Highly structured and dependable; able to take ownership and drive processes independently; Strong communication skills and fluent in English (Dutch is a plus); Available for 24–32 hours per week (flexible).
