Position Overview: Company: Strayer University Position: Part-Time Assistant Faculty in Accounting - Online Compensation: Competitive salary Location: Remote (USA) Start Date: Immediate openings available Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and experienced part-time Assistant Faculty member to support our online undergraduate and graduate level Accounting classes. As an Assistant Faculty, you will play a critical role in creating an optimal learning environment by interacting with students in online classrooms and supporting instructional faculty. Essential Duties: Analyze student activity within discussions and assessments and respond accordingly Utilize online learning platform (Canvas) to communicate with students and manage generic student communications Escalate unique issues to the master instructor and assist with grading Monitor engagement levels and provide recommendations on increasing engagement Adhere to university policies and procedures Perform other duties as assigned Requirements: Doctorate in Accounting or related field; Master's degree in Accounting considered 5 years of professional experience in Accounting Active CPA License highly preferred Previous online teaching experience with adult learners (5+ years preferred) Job Skills: Sound judgment and decision-making skills Ability to lead group discussions and keep accurate records Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong computer skills and ability to effectively communicate up and down the management chain Ability to manage potentially stressful situations in a professional and ethical manner What We Offer: We value a great attitude and a willingness to learn.
