Job Title: Junior Security Engineer / SOC Analyst
Location: Fully Remote in PST/MST ONLY (California ideally)
Duration: 4–5-month contract – possibility for extension
NOTE: Seeking candidates only from PST / MST area and CALIFORNIA locals are highly preferred.
Role Overview:
Under the direction of senior security engineers, the Junior Security Engineer will support the implementation and maintenance of a unified cybersecurity infrastructure. This individual will assist in protecting the organization’s computer systems, networks, and data while helping improve the overall security posture. This position offers exposure to a variety of security technologies and projects, with strong mentorship and growth opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
• 4+ years of experience in security engineering, cybersecurity, or related IT roles
• Strong foundational understanding of:
o Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSL)
o Windows and/or Linux systems
o Authentication and access control concepts
o Cloud and modern IT environments (basic knowledge preferred)
• Familiarity with security tools such as EDR, IAM, vulnerability scanners, SIEM, or similar technologies
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (NIST CSF, ISO27001, CIS Benchmarks)
• PKI & CA Security
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to learn quickly, follow guidance, and manage multiple tasks
• Proactive mindset with strong accountability and willingness to grow
• Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python, or similar) is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field — or equivalent practical experience
