This role is essential in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization within the kitchen while supporting chefs and other kitchen staff in meal preparation and service. Responsibilities Assist with meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment. Support chefs in cooking tasks, ensuring food is prepared according to recipes and safety standards. Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination. Assist with inventory management by restocking supplies and reporting shortages to management. Participate in catering events as required, helping to set up and serve food items. Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Skills Proficient in cooking techniques with strong knife skills. Experience in meal preparation and food service within a restaurant or catering environment. Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures. Previous kitchen experience is preferred, particularly in the food industry or culinary settings. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff. A passion for food and a willingness to learn new culinary skills.
