Job Summary This posting establishes a pool of candidates to fill temporary, non-tenure-track lecturer positions in Urban and Regional Planning. Appointments will be made semester-by-semester, as teaching needs arise, and will be part-time (less than 50%). The anticipated duration of this pool is through May 2024. Key Responsibilities Teach graduate-level courses in Urban and Regional Planning, which may include lectures, seminars, and studios in various teaching modes (in-person, hybrid, online, remote). Classes taught may range from three to six credit hours. Engage with students, foster a positive learning environment, and promote academic excellence. Develop and deliver course materials, assessments, and evaluations. Essential Qualifications A Master's degree in Planning or a related field. A substantive background in urban planning or related fields, including experience with professional activities, research, interdisciplinary collaborations, community engagement, and relevant software. Preferred Qualifications Prior teaching experience. A record of professional practice in planning. A professional degree in a planning-related field. Multi-disciplinary education and expertise. Skills and Competencies Strong knowledge of urban planning principles, theories, and practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations. Proficiency in relevant software and technologies.
