About Blackbird Counseling Blackbird Counseling is a growing telehealth group practice focused on anxiety disorders, trauma-informed care, and neurodivergent-affirming therapy. The practice operates alongside AnxietyExplained.com, an educational platform designed to help people understand anxiety and nervous system symptoms through clear, evidence-informed resources. Over time, this platform is intended to support public education, build brand authority, and generate organic visibility for the practice. Blackbird is growing intentionally and is building a small team of thoughtful clinicians who want to focus on clinical work without managing the full business infrastructure of private practice. The Role This position is for a licensed therapist who wants to build a consistent caseload within a telehealth group practice while maintaining flexibility and autonomy over their schedule. Clinicians in this role provide telehealth psychotherapy services to individuals experiencing anxiety, stress, trauma-related concerns, and life transitions. Typical clinicians in this role see approximately 10–20 clients per week through the practice. What Blackbird Provides Blackbird supports clinicians by providing the infrastructure required to operate within a group practice, including: • Billing and insurance infrastructure through Headway • EHR systems and documentation support • Marketing and online presence • Brand visibility through the Blackbird Counseling and Anxiety Explained platforms • A collaborative professional network of clinicians This allows therapists to focus primarily on clinical work rather than managing administrative operations. Contractor Structure This is a 1099 independent contractor position. Clinicians: • Maintain autonomy over their schedule • Provide telehealth services from their own location • Complete documentation and maintain licensure requirements Clients seen through Blackbird Counseling are scheduled and billed through the Blackbird practice systems. Ideal Candidate This role is best suited for clinicians who: • Want to develop a consistent caseload within a group practice • Enjoy clinical work but do not want to manage all aspects of running a private practice • Are comfortable working independently in a telehealth environment • Have experience or strong interest in anxiety-focused or trauma-informed therapy • Value ethical, thoughtful, and sustainable practice growth This position is generally not intended for clinicians seeking a referral-only partnership or short-term supplemental role. Requirements • Fully licensed mental health clinician (LPC, LMHC, LCPC, LCMHC, LCSW, or equivalent) • Master’s degree or higher in counseling, psychology, or related field • Eligible to practice telehealth within your licensed state • Comfortable providing telehealth therapy • Experience treating anxiety-related conditions preferred Optional Opportunities Clinicians who are interested may also have opportunities to contribute to the educational platform AnxietyExplained.com through: • educational content • specialty resources • future educational initiatives Participation in these projects is optional and not required for the clinical role. Estimated Compensation Estimated annual earnings for clinicians maintaining a steady caseload typically fall between: $86,405 – $104,058 per year Actual earnings vary based on clinician availability and caseload.
