- Develop flexible, personalized programs for students using provided graduation requirement guidelines.
- Implement district and building philosophies and goals.
- Implement adopted curricular programs and provide for individual learning needs of students.
- Provide online academic guidance for students under teacher direction.
- Create written learning plans with students and parents.
- Understanding and ability to integrate technology in a blended learning environment that fosters student learning, collaboration, and application of technology skills.
- Maintain appropriate student and program records.
- Maintain and promote professional growth through appropriate classwork, workshops, reading of professional materials, etc.
- Hold online Home Room sessions weekly.
- Maintain a current understanding of and follow state guidelines for required contact time, record keeping, enrollment, curriculum, etc.
- Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- The employee shall maintain a consistent presence at the assigned work site(s) and work the regular work hours specified by the contract.
- Professionally interact with colleagues, members of the public, and students.
- Comply with and uphold all district policies and all applicable laws.
- Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
- Prior successful experience as a teacher in an ALE program and delivery of online curriculum preferred.
- CTE experience encouraged.
- Understanding of all legal requirements of alternative learning experience programs in terms of state laws as well as relevant legal precedents and ensure that all program policies, handbooks, procedures, and practices comply with the law.
- Experience which demonstrates a working knowledge of online teaching.
- Demonstrate understanding and ability to implement a trauma informed learning environment where the needs of the whole child are accounted for in classroom design.
- Ability to use a wide range of materials/strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Demonstrated success by training and experience which recognizes all children as learners.
- Willingness to be involved in committee work and creation of programs that change and are redesigned based on student needs.
- Flexible in learning new concepts, cooperates with others, and adapts to a variety of assignments and conditions.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both oral and written communication.
- Ability to handle confidential matters and information in a professional manner.
- Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with district staff to enhance the completion of assigned tasks.

- Valid Washington State driver's license or evidence of mobility.
- Proof of Immunization (if born 1/1/57 or later).
- I-9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigrations Reform and Control Act.
- Completion of all district-required trainings within thirty (30) calendar days from hire date.
