Description: American Express Technology is a critical Enterprise function, serving as the backbone of all we do, from providing the underlying infrastructure of the company to building core products and services we deliver to our customers. Amex Technology has changed dramatically over the last few years, moving from a waterfall to an agile model of working. As Technology continues to evolve its operating model, the finance organization needs to evolve with it. The Tech Finance Investment Optimization & Analytics team creates enterprise value through data-driven insights and analytics of Technology investments to enable effective trade-offs and business decisions. The Finance Manager role will work with Senior Technology Leaders, providing financial decision support and data-driven insights. The role will also provide analytics of Technology investment expenses for senior leaders in Tech, Finance, and the business. Key responsibilities include: Drive Technology investments optimization, covering both overall process and all financial aspects of annual capacity planning and in-year management Manage the planning, forecasting and results processes for an expense base that drives critical investment decisions for the Enterprise Perform strategic ad-hoc analyses and research to turn data into insightful information driving business decisions Partner with key Finance, Business, and Technology stakeholders to drive efficiencies and achieve similar goals Provide support and transparency into the total AXP technology development investments to the broader Finance organization (Corporate Planning &Analysis, Investment Optimization Finance Community), and other strategic planning teams Minimum Qualifications: 5+ years of Finance experience Expertise in planning and forecasting methodologies Passion for developing and driving partnerships across multiple functions across the enterprise Process optimization experience and understanding of optimization methodology Strong project management experience Strong working proficiency of Excel, Word, PowerPoint required Understanding of Oracle, TM1, and other financial tools Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of SQL and big data analysis tools (Yellowbrick, PowerBI, Tableau) preferred MBA/CPA or equivalent preferred Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
