We are seeking a Marketing Specialist with a unique combination of experience as an elementary school teacher AND in marketing. This remote role is perfect for someone who loves literacy and marketing, and who wants to have a positive impact on elementary school teachers and students! About Us: Learning At The Primary Pond, Inc. is a small company (9 full-time team members) founded in 2012. We provide professional development and teaching resources to elementary school teachers, with a focus on literacy. Our main products are online memberships for teachers, and we also sell courses and downloadable PDF curriculum resources. All business is conducted online. Required Qualifications and Experience for this Role (no exceptions): • Bachelor's degree in elementary education / early childhood education • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in grades K, 1st, or 2nd (or a combination) • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in marketing, including email writing and social media content creation Required Skills: • Knowledge of best practices in literacy (aligned with the Science of Reading) • Understanding of an elementary teacher’s perspective (especially K, 1st, and 2nd grade classroom teachers) and desire to help teachers/students • Outstanding written communication and grammar skills, with experience in writing marketing emails and social media captions (must love writing!) • Good sense of visual design, with experience in creating images and videos for social media • Data-driven and analytical: comfortable making sense of numbers and social media stats to determine next best steps • Growth oriented and strong desire for learning and improvement • Self-starting: can follow general directions, but feels confident making decisions about what would be best to post, what angle to take with a marketing email, etc. • Experience collaborating with others to accomplish tasks • Strong organizational and time management skills • High level of proficiency and comfort using technology for digital marketing and collaboration • Previous remote work experience preferred Marketing Specialist Responsibilities: Below are some examples of tasks you’d be responsible for in this position. Social Media Responsibilities: • Plan social media strategy for the month (with guidance from your supervisor) • Take photos and videos of our literacy resources (professional photography skills not required - you can use your phone, or we’ll provide a camera) • Create images for Facebook and Instagram • Create Reels and edit videos (you’ll be behind the camera, not on camera) • Answer Facebook and Instagram messages from followers / customers • Create ManyChat flows (automatic responses when customers comment a keyword) • Continuously work to improve social media performance by evaluating and reflecting on performance data • Stay up to date on social media trends Writing Responsibilities: • With support from your supervisor, plan content for our newsletter • Write content for our newsletter • Write marketing emails for sales, promotions, and launches • Write text and plan sales pages, landing pages, etc. What We Offer: • Salary range: $60,000 to $67,000 • Fully remote work-from-home position • 18.5 paid holidays, including paid time off between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day • Sick days (10) and additional vacation time (12 days, increasing to 15 after your first year) provided • Company-provided laptop (and any other equipment needed for your role) • Annual budget for professional development • Annual stipend / reimbursement for home office supplies • No health insurance available, but stipend available after 60 days of employment for candidates who will be purchasing their own health insurance Availability Needed: From Monday to Thursday, work hours are 8am to 4:30pm Central U.S. time. On Fridays, work hours are 8am to 4pm Central time. This is a remote position with set business hours that you’ll be expected to work, attend meetings, etc. However, we offer flexibility for personal commitments like school drop-offs or appointments! In addition to these routine hours, at times there may be a social media post you need to push out during the evening. A few times per year, we’ll also need you to answer social media messages over the weekend, during our launches. That said, we try to limit your after-hours work as much as possible.
