Job Summary:

As a Medical Assistant in our Gastroenterology department, you will be responsible for:

• Providing direct patient care and support to our healthcare team
• Performing phlebotomy, preparing specimens for transport to labs, and conducting simple laboratory procedures
• Taking vital signs, preparing patients for procedures, and assisting with patient flow
• Utilizing electronic medical records and computer programs for data entry and retrieval
• Maintaining a high level of confidentiality and presenting professionally in all interactions

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of a Medical Assistant educational program preferred but not required
• Certification in basic life support through the American Heart Association and knowledge of the Bloodborne Pathogen Standard required
• Minimum 6 months of healthcare experience
• Phlebotomy skills preferred
• Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills
