This is a paid freelance and remote position. ScreenRant is the #1 entertainment website and publishes up-to-the-minute news on blockbuster movies, TV shows, video games, comic books, music and other forms of entertainment. As a worldwide leader, ScreenRant operates at a rapid pace and is always looking for experienced and passionate contributors who can create original high-quality content in a timely manner. Your Responsibilities: • Core responsibility is in sourcing news in a timely fashion • Adding titles and sources to asana for writers to claim • Understanding of what makes a catchy title/angle • Ensuring news quotas are hit - understanding the times when it is appropriate to overrun, and when news can be passed on/passed to features • Assigning articles/communicating with writers on news assignments • Editing articles and prioritizing most timely edits • Prepping soft/niche news for weekends • Sending writer feedback/writer development • Writing articles when needed (especially when fastest turnaround is required on breaking news) • Attending weekly team meeting Our Perks: • Competitive compensation. • Consistent and timely payments. • Flexible schedule. • Remote freelance position to work from a location of your choice. • Exposure to ScreenRant’s large and passionate audience, providing you an exciting opportunity to make a genuine impact. Experience and Skills: • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field. • 2 years of experience in producing entertainment and related content. • In-depth familiarity with and fierce passion for the entertainment industry, especially the latest Movie news • Experience with SEO practices. • Experience with a custom CMS, preferred.
