Project: “These Days” Musical Recording/Transcription Piano Recording for "Fever" - See Act 1, Song 6 Foundational Instrument: Piano (with additional as musician is able to or desires to) Act 1 Link: (This is a safe youtube link) Project Deadline: ASAP UPDATE: I am learning as I go. This is the first time I've used this. I will progress on a song by song basis - each $150. I was very happy with the results for "I'm Looking Forward", now it is time to work on "Fever". One musician I spoke with was concerned that I was engaged in spec (speculative) work. I don't want anyone to spend "substantial" time to create a finished product. The fact of the matter is that my request deals with a subjective and creative project. Engaging in some form of alignment is fair. Don't spend a ton of time ... and I don't care if you cough or do whatever you want to do to make sure the sample is not final and to prevent me from unethically using what is intended to be a sample. I wouldn't ... but if it raises the comfort level for a sample I'm fine. I am trying to be very open and very fair. For this I'd like a piano as the foundation. Some have included strings ... feel free to see what makes sense. A bass line? Percussion? But at its base - a piano, a grand piano with the sound of an orchestra hall. : ) For those that have added instruments ... please keep it JUST piano for verse and chorus 1. Thanks Structure could be something like below - I'm brainstorming, so don't take this too seriously! Please record in a set time signature. I'm terrible with that so I'm sure I migrate to different time signatures. But in case I have a musician sit in during the community theatre performance, it would be nice if the time signature was set. Hope that makes sense. Verse 1/Chorus 1: Very light ... a lot of individual notes. Maybe the chorus is a little stronger. But this part is intended to be quiet. Please start with an introductory chord so the singer will have a mark. Verse 2/Chorus 2: Solid rest between Chorus 1 end and Verse 2 start. Bring tempo up a bit with more chord structures, but not at the level we'll see with Chorus 3 and big finish. Bridge: Maybe bring it down a touch or a different pattern to have it stand out as different. Chorus 3: Strong Then a bit quiet for the big push as the end. It should be obvious if you listen to the recording. Looking to really have the closing bars of the song be strong and impactful for the audience. It's the music push after the singer closes with "tonight". For those that included strings ... boy, can't you hear this as an incredibly dramatic ending? Please consider a strong music finish - not like I did where I quietly extended the music a bit. Have it end with an exclamation point musically! Apply tot his job
