Job description: JOB SUMMARY

The UConn Library seeks an innovative and creative Metadata Management Librarian to join our Acquisitions & Discovery team. Reporting to the Head of Acquisitions & Discovery, the Metadata Management Librarian creates and manages metadata necessary for the discovery, access, and stewardship of UConn Library collections. Success in this position requires a holistic understanding of metadata's role in facilitating discovery of library resources and applying relevant international and national standards, rules, and best practices for the creation, analysis, enrichment, and maintenance of metadata.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Additional Responsibilities for Appointment as Librarian 3 Shared Expectations for All Staff * Applies the principles of the Library's core values and Strategic Framework through active contribution and cooperation in achieving Area and Unit priorities and operational goals. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * A graduate-level degree in a field relevant to the position or a graduate degree in Library and Information Science from an American Library Association-accredited institution (or international equivalent). Additional Minimum Qualifications for Appointment as Librarian 3 * Minimum of six years of post-graduate related professional experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This appointment is a full-time position, with hybrid schedule options, based in Storrs, Connecticut. The University offers a competitive salary, outstanding benefits, including employee and dependent tuition waivers at UConn, and a highly desirable work environment. Salary and rank are dependent upon education, qualifications, and experience.

Other rights, terms, and conditions of employment are contained in the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut Professional Employees Association (UCPEA).
