Oracle/DB2 DBA - Indus Valley

Job Title: Oracle/DB2 DBA Contract Duration: 15 months Location: Remote- EST Hours working hours 7 am EST to 4 pm EST Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Contract Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team remotely. The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing Oracle and DB2 databases, as well as experience with RACF for security management. The role involves ensuring the optimal performance, integrity, and security of our databases to support business operations. Key Responsibilities: Manage and maintain Oracle and DB2 database systems, ensuring high availability and performance.- Perform database tuning, optimization, and capacity planning. Implement and manage database security using RACF. Conduct regular database backups, recovery, and disaster recovery planning. Monitor database systems for performance issues and troubleshoot as needed. Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of database changes. Document database configurations, processes, and procedures. Provide technical support and guidance to other team members. Qualifications: Proven experience as a DBA with Oracle and DB2 database systems. Strong knowledge of RACF for database security management. RAC Database experience Cloud migration experience Strong troubleshooting experience Security / Database hardening experience User Management Scripting Strong Customer Service Direct interaction with Application Services teams RMAN for restores and building Stand-bys Proficiency in database performance tuning and optimization. Experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
