Key Responsibilities

- Greet and manage customers in a courteous and friendly manner, handling cash, checks, credit cards, travel vouchers, and coupons as forms of payment for tickets.
- Calculate charges, make change, and balance daily transactions, taking responsibility for any discrepancies or shortages.
- Check in baggage and cargo, answer phone calls to provide information to guests, page clients, resolve issues or complaints, and offer assistance on a case-by-case basis.
- Manage transactions necessary to load the aircraft in a timely and efficient manner, handling situations such as oversales, delayed or canceled flights, lost, delayed, or damaged baggage.
- Provide current and accurate fare, schedule, reservations, flight arrival/departure information, and respond to general inquiries from customers and other airport visitors.
- Complete forms and reports as required by the organization, writing exception and complaint reports as necessary.
- Adapt to changing station sizes and configurations, meeting any physical ability requirements listed in the job description and performing other work-related tasks as directed by management.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- The ability to type and/or use a computer keyboard with sufficient speed to meet the demands of the job.
- Strong understanding of documents, instructions, ticketing procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work under stressful conditions and meet the public.
- The capacity to complete the Customer Support Specialist training program with an 80% or higher average and successfully pass an assessment period.
- Awareness of hazardous situations and the ability to handle emergencies on a case-by-case basis.
- The ability to work under tight time constraints to achieve quick aircraft turns.
- A well-groomed appearance, adhering to the Ground Operations Employee Handbook and Work Agreement.
- The ability to perform all job functions within a confined space and communicate effectively verbally, in person, and over public address systems.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
