Part-Time Nonprofit Accounting Director (Remote)

Job Summary We're looking for a dedicated and personable leader to manage a portfolio of 3-5 nonprofit clients, providing expert accounting and compliance advisory services, and ensuring strategic financial growth. As the Nonprofit Accounting Director, you will work closely with internal team members, client staff, Finance Committees, and Boards of Directors, building strong relationships and providing valuable insights. Key Responsibilities Provide expert accounting and compliance advisory services to maximize the impact of dollars coming into organizations Strengthen the organization's financial operations and health by improving and implementing processes, controls, and sound fiscal management policies Develop and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting processes using QuickBooks Online Apply critical thinking to ensure accurate revenue recognition and design efficient accounting and bookkeeping systems Oversee annual compliance needs, serving as the liaison for external audits, 990 reporting, and grant reporting Manage, mentor, and develop consulting staff (Bookkeepers) supporting your client portfolio Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and network with other trusted professionals to generate leads Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus (CPA certification required) 5-7+ years of nonprofit accounting experience with a strong grasp of financial reporting and compliance Expertise in GAAP and nonprofit revenue recognition principles Proven ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to convey complex accounting information clearly What We Offer Competitive compensation ($55.00 per hour) Remote work environment Flexible work-life balance (15-30 hours per week) Unlimited PTO Paid maternity and paternity leave Medical coverage reimbursement Reimbursement for professional development opportunities Company-provided laptop and technology equipment How to Apply If you're a motivated and experienced nonprofit accounting professional looking to make a difference, please submit your application today.
