Part-Time Tax Specialist/CPA (Independent Contractor, Remote) - Contract to Hire

About Us We are a growing tax planning company seeking an experienced Tax Specialist/CPA to join our team as an independent contractor. This is a fully remote role with flexible hours, ideal for someone who wants to apply their tax expertise in a dynamic, client-focused environment. Position Details Type: Independent Contractor Location: 100% Remote (U.S. only) Hours: 10–20 hours per week Compensation: $22-$30/hour Responsibilities Prepare and review federal and state individual and business tax returns. Conduct tax research and provide technical guidance on tax issues. Assist with tax planning strategies for individuals and small businesses. Maintain compliance with IRS regulations and deadlines. Collaborate with attorneys and staff to support client tax matters. Communicate clearly with clients regarding tax requirements, filings, and planning opportunities. Qualifications Active CPA license (required). 2+ years of recent tax preparation experience. Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state tax compliance for individuals and businesses. Experience with tax research and IRS correspondence. Proficiency in tax preparation software and MS Office/Google Suite. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects. Preferred Skills Experience working with small business owners, entrepreneurs, and/or startups.
