Position: A-Player Freelance Financial Controller/Bookkeeper - Apparel & ecom experience - 10-15hrs/week [...] Are you a financial expert with a strong background in e-commerce and a knack for both detailed bookkeeping and high-level financial strategy? We are seeking a talented Financial Controller & Bookkeeper to join our e-commerce team on a project basis. In this dual role, you will not only manage our financial records but also play a crucial role in driving our business towards greater profitability. Tasks • Develop detailed financial forecasts to guide business decisions. • Calculate product margins and optimize profit. • Assist in tracking inventory costs and ensuring that inventory records are accurate. • Analyze financial data, including return rates, to recommend optimal sales prices. • Manage and maintain accurate P&L statements, balance sheets, and financial ratios. • Collaborate with the team to achieve a company-wide profit target of 20%. • Provide insights and strategies to improve overall financial performance. • Ensure accurate cash flow management and maintain a clear understanding of how cash flows within the business. • Work with Finaloop software to maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records. • Provide insights based on knowledge of U.S. financial regulations, especially those relevant to e-commerce businesses. • Offer strategic insights into the financial performance of brands in the U.S., leveraging experience in managing businesses with a large number of SKUs. Requirements • Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Bookkeeper, or similar role in the e-commerce sector. • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail. • Proficiency in financial forecasting, profit optimization, and cash flow management. • Familiarity with Finaloop or similar financial software. • In-depth knowledge of U.S. financial regulations and best practices for e-commerce businesses, especially if you've worked with e-commerce brands with extensive product catalogs. • Independent work: Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks efficiently. • Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in financial reporting and analysis. • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights. • Problem-Solving Ability: Skill in identifying issues and developing effective solutions. • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills; strong ability to convey financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders. • Organizational Skills: Capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines efficiently. • Adaptability: Ability to handle changes and unexpected issues in a dynamic environment.
