Job Title: Power BI Developer / Data Visualization Specialist Duration: 6-12+ Months Location: Remote, but the candidate must be located in or near the Rochester, NY area. Client: Healthcare Insurer Industry Must have Power Platform Experience Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Power BI Developer to support the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-level dashboards and reporting solutions. This role will partner closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to transform complex healthcare data into actionable insights that drive operational and clinical decision-making. The ideal candidate has strong experience in Power BI, data modeling, and healthcare data (claims, membership, provider, or clinical), with a passion for building intuitive and scalable dashboards. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI • Translate business requirements into data models and visualization solutions • Build and optimize data models using Power Query, DAX, and relational datasets • Connect to and integrate data from multiple sources (SQL Server, Snowflake, APIs, etc.) • Collaborate with stakeholders to define KPIs, metrics, and reporting needs • Ensure data accuracy, performance optimization, and usability of dashboards • Implement best practices for data governance, security, and report deployment • Support ad hoc reporting and data analysis requests • Continuously improve reporting processes and dashboard performance Required Qualifications • 3+ years of experience developing dashboards in Power BI • Strong proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling • Experience with SQL and relational databases • Ability to translate complex data into clear, user-friendly visualizations • Experience gathering and documenting business requirements • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills Preferred Qualifications • Experience working with healthcare data (claims, EHR, provider, or payer data) • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and data privacy standards • Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure, AWS) • Knowledge ofETL/ELT processes and data warehousing concepts • Exposure toAgile/Scrum environments Key Competencies • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills • Effective collaboration across technical and non-technical teams Nice to Have • Experience with other BI tools (Tableau, Cognos, etc.) • Python or R for data analysis • Experience with data storytelling and executive-level reporting Thanks John Netstrive Consulting, LLC 450, E. 22nd St, Suite 178, Lombard, IL 60148 Direct: Desk No: Ext-404 Fax: Web: Email: Note: This email is not intended to be a solicitation.
