Job Overview
The Principal Technical Product Manager – Commerce Platform plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of our commerce capabilities and omni-channel commerce ecosystem. You'll partner across the organization to shape a more unified view of our commerce systems, create, merchandise, and transact new product and purchase types, and drive solutioning and thought leadership for new capabilities. This role requires an affinity for technical concepts and an ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with product managers, technology leaders, and designers to deliver highly complex, strategic enterprise programs that drive new capabilities and lead to a more impactful experience for our athletes.
- Lead the product efforts for large bodies of work, providing a macro view of priorities and executive-friendly updates on roadmap progress, customer journey, and value delivery.
- Negotiate and align with technology and business leadership to ensure cross-functional alignment and agility.
- Enable cross-functional teams to deliver against integrated roadmaps and sets of outcomes aligned to an enterprise strategy or program.
- Advocate for human-centered design practices and find creative ways to influence and elevate design thinking across multiple products.
- Facilitate the execution of work through complex journeys, including partnership with product teams, program and portfolio management, stakeholders, technology partners, and third parties.
- Provide decision-making as a service and effectively resolve conflict through superior negotiation methods.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Superior knowledge and application of lean product management frameworks.
- Superior knowledge and application of product design and human-centered practices.
- Superior level and application of prioritization frameworks.
- Superior understanding of Scrum and Agile.
- Success in leading teams through the product lifecycle and software development lifecycle.
- Superior level of experience in defining short- and long-term strategies, horizons, visions, and launching excellent products, specifically enterprise programs.
- Experience with driving enterprise programs or highly complex bodies of work across multiple product teams or portfolios.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and executive leadership stakeholders without formal authority.
- Effective management, facilitation, and collaboration skills to drive alignment across organizational peers and complex stakeholder groups.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with system design, including an understanding of systems and data contractors, microservices architecture, API design, error and edge-case handling, and process modeling.
- Expert written and verbal communication skills that result in effective relationship building.
- Ability to advocate for research and design thinking practices at all levels.
- Can quickly and effectively resolve conflict through superior negotiation methods.
- Effectively provides decision-making as a service.
- High organizational agility.
- Curious attitude and desire to learn.
- Demonstrated coaching techniques to enable teammates without direct management responsibilities.
- Ability to coach teammates on complex product frameworks, concepts, or methodologies.
