Department Overview Our Flex software suite provides mission-critical solutions for public safety agencies across the country, helping first responders and law enforcement personnel manage incident response, records, evidence, and daily operations. The Product Owner plays a key role in driving product development within our Agile software delivery teams. We partner closely with customers, business stakeholders, and engineering to deliver innovative, reliable, and user-focused solutions that support the unique needs of public safety. This role will manage a team of product owners and shape the future of our product development efforts. Job Description In addition to acting as a Product Owner for a specific team, you will also manage and mentor a team of Product Owners. Serve as the voice of the customer for your product area within the development team Define, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog to align with business strategy and customer needs Write clear user stories and acceptance criteria to guide engineering and QA Collaborate with product, engineering, and other business stakeholders to deliver the roadmap within committed timeframes Participate and lead Agile ceremonies (backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint demos, retrospectives, and team standups) Conduct release planning, partnering with product to translate the product vision and roadmap into actionable development work Support development work with UX/UI deliverables in the form of wireframes, mockups, and/or prototypes to illustrate the user journey Partner with agencies to pilot new feature functionality before general release Ensure delivered features meet customer expectations and add measurable value Managing, mentoring, and guiding a team of product owners, ensuring alignment with overall strategy and supporting their professional growth Basic Requirements Bachelor's Degree Advanced English 4+ years of progressive experience in business analysis, product ownership, product planning, product management, or engineering Desired skills: Experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with a focus in ESRI ArcGIS Solutions preferred People management experience and/or a passion for developing and leading teams Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, or similar) Firm understanding of software design principles, user interaction, and user interface design Deep technical knowledge in software development methodologies Experience utilizing product and project management tools such as Aha! and Jira Technical skills and knowledge of on-prem or cloud services and development Align with the enhanced focus on prioritizing and developing important aspects of mission-critical products, such as availability, reliability, and stability Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written Polished presentation skills for internal and external audiences Proactive, enthusiastic attitude toward challenging problems Capable of quickly evaluating and prioritizing new projects alongside customer feedback Strong ability to take complex user requirements and distill them into a format that is intuitive and clear to developers as well as non-technical staff Ability to research and analyze project requirements from various stakeholders Build consensus among stakeholders Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team spread across multiple continents in a fast-moving environment Ability to multi-task among various assignments Experience within the Public Safety industry is a plus Understanding of product management and product ownership principles Travel Requirements None Relocation Provided None Position Type Experienced Referral Payment Plan No EEO Statement Motorola Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
