We are seeking a Regional Buyer I, Produce to join our procurement team and support the sourcing and merchandising of high-quality produce in the New York region. The ideal candidate is passionate about fresh food, highly analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the product assortment and drive value for customers while ensuring optimal supply chain performance. Key Responsibilities: - Source fresh produce directly from farms, growers, and regional distributors to ensure consistent quality and competitive pricing. - Monitor inventory levels and sales data to make data-driven purchasing decisions. - Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability and availability of key products. - Conduct regular market analysis to stay ahead of trends, seasonality, and regional preferences. - Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, logistics, and marketing teams to ensure on-time delivery and alignment with promotions. - Ensure all sourced items meet food safety, regulatory, and company standards. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, agriculture, or related field preferred. - 2+ years of produce buying or sourcing experience, ideally in a multicultural or perishable goods setting. - Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills. - Familiarity with produce categories and regional market dynamics. - Bilingual abilities (English/Mandarin or Spanish) a plus. - Ability to work onsite or travel within the assigned region as needed.
