The Initiative Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research lab to benchmark and train advanced language models. We are seeking a Hindi Audio Generalist Evaluator to translate complex audio and visual information into precise, well-structured text. While this is primarily a remote, short-term engagement, it requires being based in the SF Bay Area to enable occasional in-person collaboration if required by the research lab.
Compensation & Structure
Rate: $50 USD per hour.
Format: Remote/Flexible schedule (SF Bay Area residency required).
Commitment: Part-time, structured engagement requiring 10–20 hours per week.
Payments: Processed weekly via Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
Core Responsibilities
• Transcription & Optimization: Listen to and transcribe audio/video content in Hindi, capturing nuances like tone, formal/informal register, regional expressions, and dialectal variations.
• Evaluation Standards: Develop detailed evaluation rubrics in Hindi and English. Identify complex colloquialisms, grammatical edge cases, and code-switching patterns (e.g., Hinglish).
• Model Testing: Run prompts through AI language models, evaluating the generated outputs for accuracy, fluency, and instructional clarity to strictly benchmark model performance.
✅ Strict Eligibility & Profile Requirements
✔️ Operational Location: Candidates must be currently residing in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. ✔️ Linguistic Expertise: Must possess native-level fluency in Hindi (spoken and written) alongside professional fluency in English. Strong familiarity with contemporary Hindi usage and Hinglish code-switching is strictly required.
✔️ Academic/Professional Background: College students, recent graduates, or professionals with backgrounds in linguistics, humanities, journalism, or translation are highly preferred.
