The Clinical Technical Assistance Lead is responsible for ensuring the clinical accuracy and quality of technical assistance, serving as a clinical subject matter expert while working closely with healthcare organizations to support chronic disease management and technology adoption.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and review of clinical training materials, toolkits, educational resources, and technical assistance content
- Ensure all clinical guidance reflects current evidence-based practices and standards of care
- Provide subject matter expertise related to chronic disease management, including hypertension, diabetes, and obesity
- Deliver clinical technical assistance through webinars, workshops, Communities of Practice, consultations, and academic detailing activities
- Advise clinical teams on integrating innovative care approaches and patient-generated health data into existing workflows
- Support healthcare organizations in identifying and implementing best practices that improve care delivery and patient outcomes
- Provide guidance on the clinical use of digital health tools, remote monitoring technologies, wearable devices, and related data sources
- Assist organizations in incorporating patient-generated health data into care planning, population health strategies, and clinical decision-making processes
- Collaborate with program staff to identify emerging trends and opportunities related to technology-enabled care delivery
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align clinical content with program objectives and stakeholder needs
- Participate in quality assurance reviews to ensure consistency, accuracy, and effectiveness of technical assistance products and services
- Support evaluation activities by providing clinical insight into performance measures, outcomes, and lessons learned
Skills
- Doctoral degree in Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, or a closely related clinical field (MD, DO, DNP, PharmD, or equivalent)
- A Master's degree combined with extensive relevant clinical technical assistance experience may be considered in lieu of a doctoral degree
- Minimum seven (7) years of clinical practice or clinical program experience, including direct experience with chronic disease management, specifically hypertension, diabetes, and obesity, in primary care or safety-net settings
- Direct experience with Self-Measured Blood Pressure (SMBP), Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) use for Type 2 Diabetes, and incorporation of patient-generated health data from wearable devices into clinical care
- Minimum five (5) years of experience providing clinical technical assistance to federally qualified health centers, community health centers, or comparable safety-net providers
- Demonstrated experience integrating technology, wearable devices, or patient-generated health data into clinical workflows
- Strong written, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience supporting federally funded healthcare programs or federal health initiatives
- Experience working with community-based healthcare organizations serving underserved populations
- Familiarity with digital health, remote patient monitoring, virtual care, or healthcare technology implementation
- Experience developing clinical education, training programs, or provider-facing technical assistance resources
- Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies, population health strategies, and care transformation initiatives
