Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. RemoteHunter is seeking a Collection Specialist to support a Specialty Infusion Pharmacy and work remotely within the USA. The role involves managing accounts receivable, making collection calls, and ensuring compliance with various regulations while providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Research all balances on accounts receivable and take necessary collection actions promptly
- Review and resolve assigned correspondence and requests in a timely manner
- Make routine collection calls on outstanding claims
- Identify and resolve billing errors, short payments, unpaid claims, and cash application issues
- Identify potential risk, write-offs, and status appropriately; report and escalate to management as needed
- Research refund requests from payers and update refund status accordingly
- Document detailed notes clearly in company software
- Identify issues or trends and escalate to management when assistance is required
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, third-party contracts, and company policies
- Communicate effectively with branch, management, patients, and insurance carriers
- Perform account analysis when necessary
- Answer patient calls regarding balance inquiries
- Use portals and other electronic tools to manage accounts
- Ensure claims are on file after initial submission
- Identify, escalate, and prepare potential payer projects for management and company liaisons
- Write detailed appeals with supporting documentation
- Monitor payer follow-up and appeal deadlines
- Submit secondary claims
Skills
- Home infusion therapy experience is required
- Previous home infusion and specialty pharmacy experience required
- 1-3 years or more of collections experience
- Knowledge of HCPC coding and medical terminology
- Strong math and writing skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize, problem solve, and multitask
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred
- CPR+ systems experience preferred
