They are seeking an experienced Infrastructure & Operations Director to lead the deployment and optimization of distributed modular computing infrastructure across the United States.
Responsibilities
- Lead site selection, deployment, installation, and commissioning of modular data center infrastructure across multiple U.S. locations
- Oversee project execution to ensure on-time delivery while maintaining compliance with utility, regulatory, and grid requirements
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve operational procedures (SOPs) to maximize system uptime and operational efficiency
- Manage infrastructure performance and ensure reliable 24/7 operations across distributed facilities
- Execute intelligent load management strategies during periods of energy price volatility and grid demand fluctuations
- Serve as the primary technical liaison between physical infrastructure, electrical systems, and proprietary AI-based scheduling software
- Provide remote leadership and operational oversight for field technicians, contractors, and maintenance teams
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, operational standards, and preventive maintenance programs
- Identify operational risks and rapidly resolve complex infrastructure issues under demanding project timelines
- Collaborate with executive leadership on infrastructure expansion strategy, operational scalability, and continuous improvement initiatives
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline
- 15+ years of experience in EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction), industrial operations, mission-critical facilities, power generation, utility infrastructure, or data center operations
- Extensive experience managing large-scale infrastructure deployment projects
- Strong expertise in high-voltage electrical systems, power distribution, and industrial electrical infrastructure
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing geographically distributed operations and remote field teams
- Strong understanding of operational performance, asset reliability, and preventive maintenance strategies
- Proven ability to solve complex operational challenges in fast-paced environments
- Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to travel as required to support project deployment and operational oversight
- Experience with modular data centers or mission-critical infrastructure
- Background in energy technology, distributed energy systems, microgrids, battery storage, or utility operations
- Experience integrating hardware infrastructure with software platforms, automation systems, or AI-driven operational technologies
- Familiarity with intelligent energy management, demand response, or load balancing strategies
- Experience working within high-growth technology companies or startup environments
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or relevant industry certifications are a plus
