The Head of Organic Content will lead the content organization, setting the editorial vision and building a team focused on helping users make better financial decisions.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and lead a 15-person content organization, setting direction, managing performance, and building a high-quality team culture
- Establish and enforce editorial quality standards and repeatable production processes across the content org
- Review content output and provide clear, constructive feedback to writers, editors, and content managers to continuously raise the bar
- Track and own key performance metrics including search rankings, organic traffic, and user engagement, using data to inform editorial decisions
- Design and run A/B tests on content styles, formats, and approaches to systematically improve content performance over time
- Collaborate with the data team on insurance product ranking methodologies and comparison frameworks
- Work with the product team to enhance interactive tools like coverage calculators and quote comparison features
- Leverage AI tools thoughtfully to improve content quality and publishing efficiency, without sacrificing depth or originality
Skills
- 10+ years of experience in an online content role, with at least a few years in a leadership capacity
- A strong editorial eye for content that simplifies complex financial topics and genuinely connects with users
- Deep experience in financial content; insurance vertical experience is a strong plus
- A sophisticated SEO skillset, with a track record of optimizing content for search while preserving a great user experience
- Practical experience using AI as a productivity and quality tool, paired with a firm stance against generic, low-effort AI-generated content
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and comfort working in a lean, fast-moving startup environment
- Insurance industry certifications such as a Property and Casualty License, Life and Health License, or CPCU designation
- Familiarity with U.S. insurance regulations and state-specific requirements
