Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Dayforce is a global human capital management company seeking a Payroll Tax Analyst to join their Managed Services team. The role involves supporting clients with payroll tax compliance, accurate submissions, and year-end activities, while serving as the primary contact for client tax inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary customer contact for Managed Tax inquiries and coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely resolution
- Support all aspects of payroll and tax compliance by researching and interpreting federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
- Assess the impact of tax law changes on employee payroll processing and communicate updates to internal partners and clients
- Develop, document, and maintain payroll tax processes, including ownership of quarterly documentation reviews
- Perform special payroll tax and compliance transactions, including multi-state wage and tax reallocations
- Coordinate employee-level year-end tax activities for assigned clients
- Provide Dayforce Tax Services with third-party sick pay wage and tax totals
- Complete W-2C submissions and provide second-quarter recaps of W-2C activity and amendment requests
- Participate in year-end planning meetings and serve as a payroll tax subject matter expert
- Act as the liaison between Dayforce Tax Services and assigned clients
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Managed Services Payroll, Case Management, Dayforce Tax Services, and other internal partners
- Support cross-functional collaboration to ensure client readiness and ongoing compliance
- Balance quarter-end payroll tax activity by researching and resolving discrepancies
- Prepare and submit payroll tax amendment requests, including determining refund or payment requirements
- Support new customer implementations by participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and implementation activities to ensure payroll tax compliance and client readiness
Skills
- 3+ years of payroll tax, payroll administration, or human resources/payroll experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and resolve moderately complex payroll issues
- Experience applying payroll auditing techniques and principles
- Strong understanding of payroll tax compliance and associated regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of payroll tax research methods and issue resolution
- Understanding of employee state and local taxation requirements
- 5+ years of payroll tax, payroll administration, or human resources/payroll experience
- Experience working in high-volume, multi-state payroll environments
- Experience with wage and tax balancing and federal, state, and local payroll taxes
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Tax, Human Resources, or equivalent experience
- Experience supporting payroll tax compliance within a managed services or outsourcing environment
- Experience working with Dayforce Payroll or similar cloud-based payroll solutions
- Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll taxation and year-end processing
- Experience supporting payroll tax activities during system implementations
- Payroll or tax-related certifications
