Role Description
This is a part-time remote role for a Mentor at Nexus. The Mentor will guide pre-medical students through their academic and professional journey, providing support in areas such as coursework, standardized test preparation, essay writing, extracurricular planning, and undergraduate or medical school applications. The Mentor will collaborate with students to identify opportunities for research, clinical experiences, and personal growth, ensuring that each student receives comprehensive, tailored guidance. This role also involves regular communication with students and their families to track progress and provide updates.
Qualifications
• Expertise in mentoring, academic counseling, or educational guidance, with a focus on pre-medical or college admissions pathways
• Strong communication skills for guiding students and collaborating with families
• Experience in academic planning, including coursework selection and standardized test preparation (e.g., SAT/ACT)
• Proficiency in essay editing, application development, and extracurricular planning for competitive academic programs
• Ability to identify and facilitate research opportunities, clinical shadowing, and networking connections for students
• Organizational skills to manage student progress and deliver tailored mentorship programs
