The Principal, Solution Consultant role involves providing senior-level presales technical leadership, leading discovery sessions with clients, and developing high-impact presentations to support the sale of complex software solutions using Workday Financials.
Responsibilities
- Provide senior-level presales technical leadership to support the sale of complex enterprise software solutions using Workday Financials and related cloud technologies
- Lead discovery sessions with prospective clients to analyze business requirements and design advanced solution architectures that demonstrate the scalability, integration capability, and strategic value of Workday Financials products
- Develop and deliver high-impact technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept configurations for executive-level stakeholders
- Serve as a subject matter expert to guide sales teams in defining solution strategy, scope, and positioning for complex or competitive opportunities
- Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Implementation organizations to influence roadmap priorities and ensure proposed solutions align with client and market needs
- Provide technical consultation to clients on solution design, configuration options, and integration strategies
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a Principal, Solution Consultant-related occupation
- Five years (60 months) of experience in conducting business process analysis for enterprise finance functions, including General Ledger, Payables, Receivables, Banking, Fixed Assets, and Period Close
- Five years (60 months) of experience in designing and presenting solution approaches, configurations, and proofs-of-concept to demonstrate product capabilities
- Five years (60 months) of experience in delivering software demonstrations and presentations for business and technical audiences
- Five years (60 months) of experience in applying financial accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and internal control concepts in solution design
- Five years (60 months) of experience in preparing RFI/RFP responses and solution documentation aligned to customer requirements
- Five years (60 months) of experience in explaining integration, reporting, and data flow concepts related to cloud-based financial systems
- Five years (60 months) of experience in collaborating with Sales, Product Management, and Implementation teams to define scope and align proposed solutions with product strategy
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a Principal, Solution Consultant-related occupation
- Three years (36 months) of experience in conducting business process analysis for enterprise finance functions, including General Ledger, Payables, Receivables, Banking, Fixed Assets, and Period Close
- Three years (36 months) of experience in designing and presenting solution approaches, configurations, and proofs-of-concept to demonstrate product capabilities
