Elite Talent Consulting is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a highly respected California law firm seeking an experienced Public Law Litigation Associate to join its growing practice.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney who enjoys representing cities, counties, school districts, special districts, and other public agencies in sophisticated litigation and advisory matters.
You'll work on meaningful, high-impact legal issues involving the California Public Records Act (CPRA), the Brown Act, municipal governance, ethics, transparency, constitutional issues, land use, and other complex Public Law matters—all while enjoying the flexibility of a 100% remote practice.

What You'll Do
• Represent California public agencies in sophisticated civil litigation.
• Advise clients on matters involving the California Public Records Act (CPRA), the Brown Act, municipal governance, ethics, transparency, and other Public Law issues.
• Handle all phases of litigation, including case strategy, pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, oral argument, trial preparation, writ proceedings, and appeals.
• Draft persuasive motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and appellate filings.
• Partner directly with public agency clients to provide practical legal guidance and strategic solutions.
• Collaborate with experienced attorneys on high-profile matters impacting communities throughout California.
We're Looking For
• Active California Bar license.
• Strong California Public Law experience.
• Experience representing public agencies in litigation and/or advisory matters.
• Experience with the California Public Records Act (CPRA), Brown Act, or similar public governance matters is highly desirable.
• Excellent legal writing, research, analytical, and advocacy skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to independently manage litigation matters.
• A collaborative attorney who enjoys working directly with clients and solving complex legal challenges.
