HaciGroup is a nonprofit dedicated to creating community-owned technology, starting with NELA Ride, a fair alternative to ride-sharing services. They are seeking a React Native App Developer Intern to assist in developing and improving mobile apps for riders and drivers, working closely with the founder and a small team.
Responsibilities
• Build UI components and screens in React Native / Expo
• Improve user flows, layouts, and interaction patterns
• Debug issues and enhance app stability and performance
• Work on rider/driver profiles, maps, ride creation, and onboarding
• Contribute ideas that elevate design, usability, and mission impact
• Participate in weekly check-ins and collaborate with the team
Skills
• Experience with React Native, React, or Expo (school/personal projects OK)
• Comfortable with JavaScript or TypeScript
• Detail-oriented and proactive
• Interest in community-driven tech, mobility, or social impact
