Metric Geo has partnered with a leading unicorn in AI video generation, backed by Google and NVIDIA, to build world models that redefine visual content creation. They are seeking a Research Manager to lead their Applied ML Research team, focusing on world models and generative video applications.
Responsibilities
- Building and scaling a world-class computer vision research team, owning the direction, culture and quality of output
- Bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and shipped product, partnering with engineering to get state-of-the-art work into production
- Working closely with the product team to identify and prioritise research bets that have a clear path to user impact
- Investing in the people around you, helping researchers grow, develop and do the best work of their careers
- Taking business goals and turning them into technical roadmaps the team can get behind and execute on
Skills
- A strong research background in computer vision, with 5+ years of industry experience as a research scientist
- Proven experience leading researchers, with at least 1 year as a people manager
- The ability to remain technically hands-on whilst successfully managing a team
- Someone who knows how to set a vision, communicate it clearly and bring a team along with them
- Top-tier publication track record in CVPR, NeurIPS, ICCV, ICLR or similar, with an active Google Scholar page (20+ h-index)
- Prior experience in a start-up scaling a small team
- Built state-of-the-art foundation models for video/image generation or world models
