Key Responsibilities Underwrite and price cyber insurance policies, evaluating technological vulnerabilities, data privacy exposures, and potential third-party risks. Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail brokers and wholesale agents, understanding their needs and providing expert guidance. Collaborate with internal teams, including claims, legal, and IT security, to ensure comprehensive risk assessment and policy structuring. Monitor emerging cyber threats, regulatory changes, and market trends to inform underwriting strategies and product development. Analyze financial statements, security assessments, and other relevant data to determine policy terms, conditions, and pricing. Ensure compliance with all underwriting guidelines, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Contribute to the development and refinement of underwriting tools, models, and best practices for cyber risk. Provide training and mentorship to junior underwriters on cyber risk assessment and underwriting techniques. Effectively communicate underwriting decisions, rationale, and risk appetite to brokers and internal stakeholders. Actively participate in industry events and conferences to enhance market presence and knowledge. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Business, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of dedicated experience in cyber insurance underwriting or a closely related field (e.g., IT risk assessment, cybersecurity consulting with an insurance focus). Demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity principles, common vulnerabilities, data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and incident response planning. Proven ability to analyze complex technical information and translate it into sound underwriting decisions. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, essential for remote collaboration. Familiarity with various underwriting platforms and risk assessment tools. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC are highly desirable. Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to manage workload effectively in a fully remote setting. Must be able to work independently and as part of a geographically dispersed team, contributing to our Baltimore, Maryland -based operational hub remotely.
