They are seeking a Senior Inventory Accountant to manage retail and supplies inventory accounting, analyze cost of goods sold, and develop strong monthly inventory accounting processes. The role involves maintaining inventory-related general ledger accounts, supporting audits, and providing detailed financial analysis and margin analytics.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the integrity of inventory accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions
- Understand the inventory system (ENVI) and extra data for detailed financial analysis of products
- Maintain the inventory- related general ledger accounts
- Provide support on monthly counts, particularly for retail inventory
- Provide various monthly cost analysis by product
- Assist in annual audit preparation, as related to inventory and cost of goods sold accounts
- Assist in the development of processes and controls to assure accurate inventory accounting
- Provide data to assist in fair value accounting, including assessing obsolescence, spoilage and shrinkage
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for costs of goods sold
- Assist in monitoring pricing discounts for products sold
- Prepare margin analytics for products sold
- Strong analytical, time management, and Microsoft Excel skills are required. The person should be able to prioritize and meet deadlines without compromising the quality of work
- This position will require 25% travel to be onsite with the retail operation monthly, during the inventory close process. Outside of required travel, this position will be remote, with workspace in corporate offices available

- Experience in inventory accounting and analysis
- Demonstrate proficiency in MS Excel, Power BI and other data analysis tools
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required
- 5 years of work experience in inventory accounting or related field
