Parallel Sustainability is committed to providing innovative sustainability staffing solutions and is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead sustainability projects in the manufacturing sector. The role involves managing client relationships, delivering high-quality project outcomes, and applying sustainability frameworks to ensure effective execution.
Responsibilities
• Lead and personally deliver client-facing sustainability work for our manufacturing clients in the built environment sector
• Create thoughtful, high-quality deliverables including strategies, presentations, reports, summaries, trainings, and implementation tools that translate complex ideas into clear, actionable insights
• Apply sustainability frameworks and subject matter expertise to help clients move from strategy to execution
• Own project planning and delivery, managing timelines, milestones, and moving parts across multiple engagements
• Anticipate and communicate risks and adjust course proactively to keep work on track and clients confident
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing insights, facilitating meetings, sharing progress, and maintaining strong, trusted relationships
• Collaborate closely with Directors, technical experts, and cross-functional teammates to align resources and deliver great work
• Contribute to improving how we work—helping strengthen tools, processes, and repeatable approaches as Parallel continues to grow
• Support and mentor Associates through shared project work, guidance, and feedback
Skills
• Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Studies, Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or related field
• 6-8+ years of making a difference in project management, consulting, or client delivery roles, preferably within sustainability, the built environment, manufacturing, or related sectors
• Well-developed knowledge with green building and/or sustainability frameworks (e.g., LEED, WELL, Fitwel, GHG Protocol) with the ability to apply these frameworks in client delivery and project execution
• Demonstrated understanding of green product ecolabel/standards within the built environment (e.g., EPD, HPD, Declare, C2C, etc.), including how they inform product documentation, client deliverables, and market use
• Strong organizational and time-management capabilities, with consistent attention to detail
• Reliantly capable of managing deadlines and contributing to multiple projects simultaneously
• Consistently high-quality results when working in tools such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel as well as project management software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with comfort engaging clients and internal stakeholders
• Proficient conducting and/or leading research, writing, or data tracking related to sustainability or environmental impact
• Thrive working across different teams, disciplines, and working styles
• Demonstrated interest in growing your impact and contributing to how Parallel delivers sustainability support in the built environment
