Key Responsibilities: Empowering Students through Personalized Education
- Develop and Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Create tailored educational plans that cater to the unique needs and goals of each student, ensuring they receive a high-quality education.
- Provide Virtual Instruction and Support: Deliver engaging and effective virtual instruction to students with disabilities, utilizing a range of teaching strategies and technologies to meet their diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with Parents and Educational Professionals: Work closely with parents, teachers, and other educational professionals to create and maintain a positive and effective learning environment that supports the overall development of our students.
- Monitor and Assess Student Progress: Continuously monitor student progress, adjusting instructional methods and materials as needed to ensure that our students are achieving their full potential.
- Utilize Technology and Virtual Tools: Leverage a range of virtual teaching platforms and technologies to enhance learning and engagement, staying up-to-date with the latest tools and best practices in remote education.
Essential Qualifications: The Skills and Experience We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or Related Field: A degree in Special Education or a related field is essential, with a Master's degree preferred.
- Valid Indiana Special Education Teaching License: You must hold a valid teaching license in Special Education issued by the state of Indiana.
- Proven Experience Working with K-12 Students: You should have a proven track record of working with K-12 students with diverse learning needs, demonstrating your ability to adapt to different age groups and educational requirements.
- Strong Proficiency in Virtual Teaching Platforms and Technology: You should be highly proficient in using a range of virtual teaching platforms and technologies, with the ability to quickly adapt to new tools and systems.
- Excellent Communication and Organizational Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills are critical, as you will be working remotely and collaborating with various stakeholders to support student learning.
Preferred Qualifications: Additional Skills and Experience That Set You Apart
- Experience with IEP Development and Implementation: Previous experience in developing and implementing IEPs is highly desirable, demonstrating your understanding of the IEP process and your ability to create effective educational plans.
- Knowledge of Special Education Laws and Regulations: A strong understanding of special education laws and regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), is preferred.
