Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Robert Half is an innovative and rapidly growing software technology company seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This role is critical for managing the monthly close process, general ledger, and accounting for software and intangible assets, while collaborating with various teams to ensure accurate project capitalization.
Responsibilities
- Own the accounting, tracking, capitalization, and amortization of internally developed software costs in accordance with ASC 350-40
- Partner with engineering, product, and operational teams to ensure accurate project capitalization
- Maintain fixed asset and intangible asset schedules
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and prepaids
- Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP
- Assist with financial reporting and audit preparation
- Manage AP processes within SAP
- Support billing and intercompany/cross-charge invoicing activities
- Reconcile AP and AR balances
- Support external audits and internal control processes
- Assist with tax-related requests and annual reporting requirements
- Prepare 1099 filings
- Maintain accounting policies and procedures
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls
- Support the continued optimization of SAP and finance workflows
- Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance reporting and operational efficiency
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 6-7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
- 2+ years of experience with ASC 350, ASC 350-40, intangible assets, software capitalization
- Candidates with ASC 805 purchase accounting and Purchase Price Allocation (PPA) experience are highly encouraged to apply
- SAP experience preferred; large ERP experience required
- Prior AP experience required
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- SAP experience preferred
