[Remote] Sr Functional Consultant (Finance / ERP)

The Senior Functional Finance Consultant will lead process design and solutioning within ERP transformation initiatives, acting as a trusted advisor to client executives while driving improved business performance and efficiency. Responsibilities • Lead process design and solutioning for Finance & Control , Order-to-Cash , and Purchase-to-Pay within ERP transformation initiatives • Align finance processes with upstream and downstream operational workflows (inventory, production, supply chain, costing) • Translate financial requirements into future-state ERP configurations, process maps, and solution designs • Act as a trusted advisor to client executives and functional leaders throughout business transformation engagements • Facilitate workshops using Ultra’s proven methodology to define future-state processes, controls, and KPIs • Lead value-driven discussions that help clients adopt best practices in financial operations, cost management, and manufacturing accounting • Apply modern finance and ERP concepts to drive improved business performance, process efficiency, and data integrity • Assist clients in selecting ERP and enabling technologies that align with their strategic goals • Develop Business Cases , ROI assessments, and investment recommendations • Produce clear, high-quality deliverables: process flows, requirements documents, spreadsheets, models, testing plans, training materials, and presentations • Lead and sometimes manage teams composed of client staff, vendors, and internal resources • Support project management activities for ERP implementation and continuous improvement initiatives • Stay current on ERP trends, finance best practices, e-commerce, supply chain, and digital transformation methodologies relevant to manufacturing and distribution • Engage directly on-site with clients in environments ranging from executive offices to plant floors Skills • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline • 10+ years of professional experience across ERP, finance operations, and/or consulting • Strong understanding of Finance & Control, including GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, cost accounting, and financial reporting • Hands-on expertise across Order-to-Cash and Purchase-to-Pay cycles • Broad ERP functional generalist background with ability to integrate finance with manufacturing, inventory, production, and supply chain modules • Ability to align finance processes with end-to-end business operations in manufacturing or distribution environments • Background in Accounting or Finance with significant, hands-on involvement in ERP implementation, optimization, or transformation work • Strong functional knowledge of ERP finance modules (any vendor) with manufacturing integration • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Visio, and project management tools • Demonstrated success in workshop facilitation, process mapping, requirements gathering, and cross-functional leadership • Ability to travel regularly to client sites (domestic) • Must be eligible to work in the United States (Ultra does not sponsor visas) • 5–10 years of practical accounting/finance experience within manufacturing or distribution preferred Company Overview • Ultra Consultants is an independent research and enterprise software consulting firm serving the manufacturing .
