The Sr Manager of QCS Engineering will lead the engineering direction for the Salesforce-based Innovative Medicine Quality Management System, defining strategy and delivering validated solutions across regulated Quality domains.
Responsibilities
- Lead technology strategy and platform transformation for regulated enterprise systems
- Evaluate new technologies, AI opportunities, security needs, and commercial software options
- Assess current solutions against future-state business capabilities and recommend roadmaps and investments aligned with enterprise architecture standards, GxP, data privacy, security, and IM business requirements
- Own end-to-end engineering for the Salesforce-based IM QMS: architecture, roadmap, lifecycle, integration strategy, APIs, and release governance
- Make key technical decisions with Product Owners, Product Group Engineering, and BU Architecture
- Lead hands-on engineering across squads
- Provide solution architecture, Salesforce Flow configuration, controlled Apex development guidance, and formal system, design, and code reviews
- Design scalable, reusable, and compliant solutions that balance platform features with controlled customization
- Work with Quality partners, Salesforce product teams, vendors, and enterprise platform owners to promote reuse and reduce duplication
- Manage technical backlog priorities, mentor engineers, and address cross-product risks, dependencies, and delivery blockers
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for Quality leadership, ISRM, validation, vendors, and governance forums
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software or Systems Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent technical field; or equivalent experience
- At least 15 years of enterprise technology delivery experience, including 10+ years implementing and scaling Quality Management Systems
- At least three years of hands‑on leadership of Salesforce‑based platforms in regulated environments
- Deep knowledge of Quality processes used in pharmaceutical, R&D or advanced therapies: Nonconformance, CAPA, Audits, Complaints, User Access Management, Change Control, and Escalation workflows
- Proven experience leading Salesforce-based Quality platforms, including configuration with Salesforce Flow and controlled custom development using Apex classes
- Strong technical proficiency in Salesforce integration patterns, API build, and enterprise data exchange across Quality ecosystems
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-team, multi-vendor delivery models under Agile, regulatory, and SDLC governance including modernization, acquisitions/divestitures, and lifecycle evolution of enterprise QMS platforms
- Define risk/based testing approach in collaboration with validation and test lead by doing impact assessment for upgrades/patches and changes to the software
- Release management and CI/CD expertise: define and implement pull request governance, branching strategies, controlled deployments, Jenkins pipelines, Salesforce CLI, and automated testing frameworks (e.g., Robot) for functional and regression testing
