The Sage Group's Client is seeking a Strategy & Operations Manager to support the Chief Marketing Officer by identifying opportunities and solving complex business problems. This role involves leading strategic projects, analyzing marketing performance, and improving organizational effectiveness within the marketing organization.
Responsibilities
- Partner directly with the CMO on the organization’s highest-priority initiatives
- Lead strategic projects from problem definition through implementation
- Conduct rapid business assessments and develop data-driven recommendations
- Evaluate growth opportunities, operational improvements, and organizational challenges
- Structure ambiguous business problems and drive them toward clear outcomes
- Analyze acquisition, customer, and marketing performance data
- Evaluate CAC, LTV, conversion funnels, channel effectiveness, retention, and ROI
- Conduct competitive and market analyses to identify opportunities and risks
- Build business cases, financial models, and decision frameworks
- Translate complex analyses into concise, actionable recommendations
- Improve operating processes across the marketing organization
- Drive planning, prioritization, performance management, and execution tracking
- Build scalable systems that increase accountability and visibility
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions
- Help the organization operate faster, more efficiently, and with greater rigor
- Act as a force multiplier for the CMO
- Prepare concise executive materials, analyses, and recommendations for leadership discussions
- Drive follow-through on critical initiatives and ensure accountability across stakeholders
- Surface issues proactively and solve problems before they become escalations
Skills
- 5–9 years of experience in management consulting, strategy, business operations, growth strategy, corporate strategy, or related fields
- Experience in high-growth, technology, internet, software, marketplace, or similarly fast-paced environments
- Consulting experience is highly valued
- Experience supporting senior leaders or executive teams is a plus
- Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills
- Ability to independently perform business analyses and build decision-support models
- Strong understanding of customer acquisition, growth metrics, marketing performance, and business economics
- Comfortable working directly with data and generating insights without dedicated analyst support
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets proficiency; SQL experience is a plus
- Highly structured thinker who brings clarity to ambiguity
- Operates with urgency and strong ownership
- Self-starter who identifies problems and opportunities without being asked
- Resourceful and capable of figuring things out independently
- Strong judgment and business intuition
- Comfortable working with senior executives and challenging assumptions when appropriate
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a preference for concise, data-driven communication
