They are seeking a senior marketing leader to accelerate Vest’s brand evolution and scale their marketing impact, leading initiatives that define new categories and enhance brand visibility.
Responsibilities
- Evolve and amplify the Vest brand architecture, voice, visual identity and positioning across all strategy pillars (Buffer, Income, Growth, Financing) to drive expanded market reach and relevance
- Frame Vest as the firm that brings precision, clarity and access to modern portfolios — not just another asset manager
- Lead the creation of distinctive brand assets and storytelling frameworks that elevate Vest beyond product-level marketing
- Develop a clear point-of-view for Vest that differentiates us from traditional asset managers and resonates with advisors navigating uncertainty
- Scale brand reach through strategic distribution: Turn Vest’s established foundation into omnipresent category leadership through content syndication, viral-ready campaigns, and systematic channel expansion
- Systematize existing thought leadership into high-velocity content production that drives consistent multi-channel engagement
- Launch and manage high-impact thought initiatives
- Build a content engine using modern channels: podcasts, LinkedIn/YouTube shorts, live panels, newsletters — minimizing reliance on conventional PR/creative agencies
- Develop an engagement and distribution strategy that leverages data, storytelling and platform native formats (short video, interactive content) to grow Vest’s audience organically and authentically
- Establish repeatable content production models (editorial calendars, contributor workflows, idea pipelines) that keep Vest top-of-mind
- Create a founder-forward narrative that leverages the CEO’s and leadership team’s expertise as a competitive advantage
- Lead integrated campaigns that span digital, social, events, and linear engagement — but with a startup-mindset: test quickly, iterate fast, measure rigorously
- Collaborate with product, distribution and sales teams to align brand efforts with business growth goals and partner positioning
- Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to find creative solutions to build the brand while complying with the nuances and restrictions of federal securities laws – demonstrating ability to push boundaries within regularity constraints
- Own metrics around brand awareness, thought leadership reach, advisor/partner engagement and inbound interest with rigorous performance tracking and data-driven optimization
- Manage and mentor the existing marketing team (2 direct reports), develop capability around content creation, social engagement and brand analytics
- Foster a culture of creativity, experimentation, and first-principles thinking — favoring original insight and modern media execution
- Hire external talent/freelancers as needed and build a lightweight ecosystem of creators instead of traditional agency overhead
- Partner directly with CEO to translate Vest's technical innovation and derivative expertise into accessible, compelling market narratives that drive business impact
Skills
- 10+ years of marketing/brand experience with proven success, ideally in financial services, fintech, or high-growth companies –specifically in challenger brand or category-defining environments
- Demonstrated track record of scaling brand visibility from strong foundation to market leadership -- especially through thought leadership, content and new-media rather than only traditional marketing vehicles
- Proven ability to achieve massive organic reach and brand awareness through smart distribution, content strategy, and growth marketing – not paid media budgets
- Exceptional story-crafting and writing ability: you can take complex technical/derivative-driven business content and turn it into accessible, inspiring ideas
- Deep familiarity with modern media formats (podcasts, social short-form video, newsletters) and an understanding of digital engagement strategies
- Hands-on experience executing in these channels and understanding what drives target audience and industry engagement
- Collaborative, agile mindset — comfortable working in a growing, nimble organization where you're building and accelerating the playbook, not following one
- Strong leadership and team-building skills with a bias for execution and results
